Most of the photographers and cameramen who attended the launch of the rockets missed, nearly systematically, the decisive moment – the taking off. All they managed to capture was the smoke trailing the rocket, its trace. Here, sculpted in Plexiglas in a strange form of immobility, are extracts of films, where the fleeting smoke disappears slowly, merges with the clouds, is lost amongst them… An attempt to give a material form to that immateriality.

In their series Dust in the Wind, also part of The Lebanese Rocket Society, the artists sculpted this smoke over blown-up images of the negatives inside Plexiglas, turning this immaterial moment into a sculptural materiality, almost negating the fact the photographers missed photographing crucial historic moments.
