It was said that the group of scientists from the Lebanese Rocket Society installed a transmitter in the tip of the Cedar rockets, which would broadcast a message over radio frequencies enabling them to follow their trajectory.

A decade later, in 1977, the American space exploration missions Voyager 1 and 2 were launched; they bore messages for any potential extra-terrestrial life: a selection of sounds and images (mostly from the Western world) engraved on golden discs. With The Golden Record, the artists composed their own version based on archival sound material from the 1960s and inspired by the memories of the various members of the Lebanese Rocket Society.

Similar to a time capsule, the record offers a portrait of Beirut and of the world in the form of a sample of sounds from the 1960s.
